1st May
Back from my Taipei Trip, travel bug has hit me yet again and I am now already starting to look for another country to visit.
Currently on my list.
1. Guangzhou
2. Japan
3.Bangkok
4. Bali
5. Vietnam
Guangzhou and Japan will probably be a longer 1 week trip type of situation, so I will probably save those 2 countries for next year, Bangkok, Bali and Vietnam will be for a shorter end of the year, before the school holiday start type of trip, just so I can have something to look forward to for the rest of the year.
Heavily leaning towards Bali right now because it is a lot more affordable, but I still have time to plan.
4th May
Left work a little early on a Monday to catch The Devil Wears Prada 2. Mondays and Tuesdays are days when I am usually alone in the office, and with nothing much to actually do that day, I made the decision to just leave work about an hour early.
Been meaning to catch this movie since it was announced and I kept seeing scene snippets of it on TikTok, illegally filmed scenes, so it my attempts to not have the movie spoilt by my TikTok algorithm, I had to watch it quick.
I got the slightly more expesnive ticket because I wanted to catch the 6pm show instead of the 6.30pm one.
Ended up having the entire theatre to myself, which was a bit weird because from the ticket selection page on the website, 30% of the seats were unavaiblae for booking.
But anyways, the movie turned out better than I had expected, I enjoyed the plot and I think the ending provided a very full circle moment for the main character, or at least that's how it felt like for me.
8th May
Nothing super interesting happened on this day, had a site meeting and a visit to the tile shop, the latter I did not enjoy because tile shopping with clients have no become such a mentally exhausting experience. To look at dozens of different but very similar tiles and then have the clients question which one is better, and the fact that I actually do give a shit about which one looking better even though they look so similar to one another.
But prior to that, my boss and I had lunch first and this was what we had after lunch, dessert, becuase we had time to kill before meeting the client.
This was a pretty good waffle with Pistachio Ice Cream from Burnt Cones.

And I was really interested in their Taro Latte. I initally thought it was going to be Matcha and Taro, but it turned out to purely be just Taro syrup and Milk. It wasn't great, definitely needs to have Matcha or Coffee for it be worth the price, milk flavored with syrup is always overpriced.
Pretty sure they were using a syrup that had a shit ton of food colouring in it because I was pooping green for the next 3 - 4 days, like a very intense green that had no brown in it, it was pure green poop.
9th May
Fitstop class in the morning with my Secondary School friend, haven't been pairing up with her for a lot of our Saturday classes together lately, which has been a bummer. I remember this particualr class, we were told to group up into groups of 4, she was with a group of her friends who already had 3 people in the group and needed just 1 more person, so I told her to just join them and I will join another group and someone from another group who had 1 person missing was nice enough to invite me into their group.
The class was good.
After class we went to have brunch together, I also passed her the perfume I had helped her purchase from eyecandle in Taipei and happy to report that she really liked the scent, which was a huge relief for me because she had told me to choose for her.
Anyways, when we were chatting, my regualr gym buddy also came to the gym to just chat with the members there because he had nothing else to do, and we invited him, along with another member who had just stepped out of the shower and also had no plans for the rest of the morning, to join us for brunch, it was a really random group.
We had wanted to visit this cafe at Loring Kilat that serves Sarnies, but then it was completely packed, which was to be expected, so we ended up going to Carpenter and Cook and my friend had found a seat near the counter, only for a customer who was queining up to suddenly exclaim that the table was already taken and it belonged to them. Ended up at the only cafe that had any seating called Signature Pattiserie
Sourdough with Miso Butter and Scrambled Eggs.
$15.
It was good, but I'm not a fan of the cafe food price, then again, it's cafe food so the pricing is also to be expected I suppose.
I also got myself a Dirty Matcha Latte, this one was pretty good as well!
After this, I did also go out in the evening to meet someone I had matched with on Hinge, not really someone I will meet again after so that was that.
10th May
Context
So there was this guy I had matched with on Hinge back in March, we had gone on 3 dates (2 of which I had wrote about in the March Update post) and on the third date, which was about a month back, he was very proactive and I felt like we had really good vibes with one another.
About 3 days later, he suddenly texted me and suggested we call things off because he felt like I wasn't interested in him enough due to how slow I had been responding to his text messages. It really threw me off guard because I thought it was a bit of a drastic move to make after how well the last date went, but I told him if he wanted to end things, than I will respect his choice, I was disappointed but if this was how he was going to react from me not replying to his messages quickly enough, then I can only imagine how much worst it can get later on.
After calling things off, he did text me again a few days later to thank me for helping out with his new home, but because I was still upset at how everything had transpired, I just gave replies that didn't really invite for longer conversations. (Reason why I did not write about the third date even though it went really well, because it ultimately did not end well)
He continued reacting to my Insta-stories while I was in Taipei and at one point, requested I help him get a particular perfume from a store I had visited, I had slowly gotten over the disappointment, so I did that and then we arranged to meet up at his place once I was back, that meeting took place on 10th May.

He prepared lunch for me, and I could tell he had put in a lot of effort because he had been preparing the soup the night before and it was one of those healthy soup that was chokeful of ingredients, it was actually really tasty.
We talked about his place and I complimented how great it looked, and how it reminded me of the Grey and Sanders Showroom that we had visited during our first meet up because everything was very clean and minimal, then he brought up the topic of the text he had send to me, he explained in person why he had send the text and it was essentially what he had told me over the text message, but this time directly from his mouth, I explained I was a slow texter because if I were to constantly reply immediately, I will eventually get texting fatigue, whereas if I were to take my time to reply, at least the messages will be thoughtful ones and not ones that are written just for the sake of replying, to which he then told me he finally understood where I was coming from and that what I said was true because all my text are actually very thoughtful.
(I have a habit doing long text messages that have multiple topics with people I am dating, just so it is able to sustain the conversation)
He concluded that he had overreacted when he send me the text because he also did felt like we had something going on during the third date, that it was precisely because the last date went so well that he had not expected my replies via text to continue being so slow.
I told him I was upset that he had jumped to conclusion because I actually felt the same way about the last date as well, that it actually went really well, he was glad to have cleared the misunderstanding and I could tell from his body language that he was very hopeful we could go back to where we had been before, to that phase of us trying to work out something, but to be honest, at this stage, I am still very much on the fence about whether I want to explore anything further with him because as much as I appreciated his gesture and the amount of preparation he had done for this lunch meet up and the fact that he still kept in touch after he called things off, it still doesn't change the fact that he had prematurely ended something promising at both our expense, something that I had been so hopeful for, before it had even begun thanks to his overthinking, it just doesn't sit well with me.
We did visit go to a few other spots after lunch, he had things he wanted to get things for his place, so I just tagged along, and we ended the day with him dropping me off at Rochor MRT.
We haven't texted each other since that meet up, buta part of me wants to reach out to him and check in.
14th May
Just a photo I took while I was waiting at Novena for my bus to get to the office, had decided to go to Novena to grab coffee before going into work and holy fucking shit, the 5 minute walk from Novena MRT to the bus stop had me drenched in sweat!

It always happens, everytime I decideo take a detour and go to Novena to grab coffee or breakfast before heading into the office, I will always end sweating when I get to this bus stop, my whole body will feel really sticky and wet, the only reason why the lighting in the photo looks so good is because the Sun is being a completely fucking bitch and just glaring right down on us.
To say I have a disdain for the weather during this period would be an understatement, I actually legtimately hate Singapore's weather during this period, it sucks! It's so fucking hot it pisses me off and I will get so upset at my Uniqlo shirts because when I sweat, it shows so promineintly on the fabric, especially on my chest, it's sickening.
That's all for now.
